TPE/TPV Elastomer Strips: The New-Generation Eco-Friendly Hardware for Door & Window Sealing

1. Industry Material Upgrade: TPE/TPV Strips Set a New Benchmark for Sealing Solutions

As the door and window industry moves toward high quality, long-term durability and green manufacturing, traditional rubber sealing materials are gradually limited by inherent performance defects and poor environmental adaptability. Manufactured from thermoplastic elastomer TPE/TPV, the new elastomer sealing strips integrate the high-performance advantages of traditional vulcanized rubber and the flexible processing characteristics of plastic. Gradually replacing EPDM, silicone and other conventional sealing materials, they have become standardized eco-friendly materials that drive the upgrading of modern door and window systems toward humanization, high-end performance and energy conservation.

Also known as artificial rubber or synthetic rubber, TPE/TPV elastomer strips inherit the excellent elasticity, oil resistance and aging resistance of traditional cross-linked rubber, while supporting diverse and efficient plastic processing methods with high molding yield. Featuring non-toxicity, environmental friendliness, comfortable hand feel and exquisite appearance, the material enables innovative and humanized product design, effectively improving the grade of door and window products, and has become a globally recognized high-standard green sealing material.

2. Ten Core Advantages Empowering High-Grade Door & Window Performance

2.1 Green, Non-Toxic and Pollution-Free for Universal Safe Application

Free from heavy metals, nitrites and other carcinogenic substances, our TPE/TPV strips reach food-grade hygiene standards. Certified by SGS and compliant with EU RoHS directives, the material releases no toxic substances or pungent odors during production and application. It causes zero harm to the human body and the ecological environment, fully meeting the standards of green building materials.

2.2 Low Density & High Utilization Rate to Reduce Production Costs

Made of 100% pure virgin raw materials without calcium carbonate or other fillers, the product features a stable density of 0.93-0.98, only 67% of conventional EPDM strips. Under the same weight, its finished product yield is 1.3 to 1.4 times that of EPDM materials. The significantly improved raw material utilization effectively reduces material costs and increases economic benefits for door and window manufacturers.

2.3 Superior Aging Resistance Ensures Long-Term Sealing Stability

The material boasts outstanding aging resistance with a service life of more than 20 years under normal working conditions. It provides reliable resistance to ozone erosion, ultraviolet radiation, humid air, acid rain and electric arcs. No cracking, oil bleeding, hardening or deformation will occur during long-term service, stably maintaining the core sealing, sound insulation and dustproof performance of doors and windows.

2.4 Low Thermal Conductivity Improves Building Energy Conservation

With a thermal conductivity lower than 0.2W/(m•K), the product serves as a high-efficiency thermal insulation material. Applied in door and window systems, it effectively blocks heat transfer between indoor and outdoor environments, reduces energy consumption for heating and cooling, and conforms to the industry trend of green and low-carbon building development.

2.5 Excellent High and Low Temperature Resistance with Stable Performance

TPE/TPV sealing strips adapt to an extreme temperature range from -70℃ to +120℃. Within the daily operating temperature of -20℃ to +40℃, the hardness change is controlled within 4HA. Its overall stability far exceeds that of traditional PVC and EPDM strips, enabling reliable application in complex and variable climatic environments across different regions.

2.6 High Resilience & Low Permanent Deformation for Durable Sealing

The elastomer delivers excellent resilience and strong compression resistance. Under standard test conditions (30% compression rate, 70℃, 24 hours), its compression permanent deformation is only 22%, compared with 75% of traditional EPDM strips under the same parameters. The ultra-low permanent deformation prevents loosening and failure after long-term use, greatly improving sealing durability.

2.7 High Tear Strength & Superior Mechanical Toughness

Tested in accordance with the ASTM D624 standard, the TPE/TPV strip achieves a tear strength of 50KN/M and an elongation at break of 944%, several times higher than national industry standards. The excellent mechanical toughness prevents tearing and damage during installation and daily use, perfectly adapting to frequent opening, closing and extrusion of doors and windows.

2.8 Flexible Processing & Diversified Styling for Customization

The material possesses excellent processing performance. It can be made into colored, translucent and customized strips with uniform color distribution, no flow marks and outstanding fade resistance under strong sunlight. With superior extrusion molding performance, it supports ultra-thin, porous, special-shaped and other complex structures that cannot be realized by EPDM materials, meeting the personalized and refined design demands of high-end doors and windows.

2.9 Stable Compatibility Protects Overall Door & Window Quality

Passing professional compatibility tests, the product produces no precipitates during use. It will not corrode or contaminate water-based and oil-based coatings on profiles, leaving no yellowing or black stains on contact surfaces. Fully compatible with structural adhesives, it maintains stable adhesive performance after 21-day UV irradiation, complying with GB16776 national standards and perfectly suitable for high-end system door and window matching.

2.10 Recyclable & Reusable for Sustainable Green Development

Different from non-recyclable traditional rubber materials, TPE/TPV elastomer strips can be recycled and reused. Secondary resource utilization effectively saves raw materials and reduces energy consumption, which not only lowers enterprise operating costs but also fits the sustainable development concept of the modern building materials industry.

3. Material Innovation Leads a New Era of Door & Window Sealing Technology

Against the backdrop of booming green buildings and high-end door and window upgrading, TPE/TPV elastomer strips break the application limitations of traditional sealing materials with comprehensive advantages of environmental safety, superior performance, cost efficiency, wide adaptability and recyclability. In the future, we will continue to focus on the R&D and production of advanced elastomer materials, optimize product performance and manufacturing processes, and provide high-quality, eco-friendly and cost-effective sealing solutions for the industry, empowering quality upgrading and green development of architectural door and window systems.
